What is the difference between plastic and concrete spacers?+
Plastic spacers are light, economical and quick to install - suitable for most wall, column and slab pours. Concrete spacers suit high loads, exposed concrete finishes (they blend into the concrete) and harsh environments.
How do you choose the right spacer for a pour?+
Choose by three parameters: the required concrete cover per the structural drawings (e.g. 25, 30 or 50 mm), the element type (wall, column, slab, pile) and the load during casting.
How many spacers are needed per square meter?+
As a rule of thumb, 4-5 spacers per m² in slabs and one spacer every 50-70 cm along the reinforcement in walls. The exact quantity depends on rebar diameter and weight.
